I have lived a long and fruitful life. Yes I want it to last longer and to become even fruitier, but I just wanted to establish that I have been around the block a few times.

Something I learned along the way that continues to blow my mind (and I wish it had been blown earlier but I am grateful that it at least got blown when it did) is that true sexual satisfaction for me has surprisingly little to do with how a lover looks.

Most of us are conditioned to think something quite different. We’re taught that looks matter more than just about anything. Legions of people go through vast ordeals in everything from shame, grief, and angst to compulsive spending, obsession, and panic in the quest to look fabulous, thinking that it will somehow get them the ultimate sexual satisfaction. Either how you look or how your lover looks is often touted to be a primary ingredient in what makes sex great.
